Our esteemed fellow citizen and worthy inteudant, PI .1 Brown, is the nrst to report squash blooms in hjs field. Mr T A Johnson, at this writing, is quite sick. Miss Mabel Buzhaidt visited friends at Effingham Sunday. A moou-Iight picnic given at the hospitable home of Mr and Mrs Henry Johnson a few miles from town last Thursday evening was an event of much pleasure to those whose good-fortune it was to be there. The many frieuds of Mr Reginald J Jiesmith around here were quite pleased to see the announcement of his candidacy for county treasurer in last week's Record. Miss Ethel Nesmith is visiting relatives in town. The guard house has been completed, but- so far no one has experienced the discomfort of occupying it. Intendant Brown informs me that all of the town ordinances have not yet been framed, but it is his intention to have them finished and posted withiu the next few days.
