On Saturday, fne 11th inst, Chas B Salters, a negro boy about 17 years old, living near town, undertook to ride on train 51 from the depot to the Main street crossing and jump off. He succeeded all right in riding to the crossing, but the latter nart of the undertaking was more than he bargained for, as he found out when his head came in sudden and violent collision with the corner of a cross-tie.
