OUR BEAUTIFUL TOWN, Tribute of a Traveling Mlrtigttfr with r in Eye for Beauty. Through fair Fbrence and its twice daily bewildering concourse of passenger trains I filtered down lu Kingstree, the pretty county seat of Williamsburg. Tradition accounts for the name of the town on the count of some colonial transaction appertaining to royalty which took place tinder a great tree on I lie bank of Mark river, which skirts the town, it was a happy name, for Darlington itself is not so bedecked with great, spreading trees. I ney give the whole town a charm. Away up to the top of one ol them my eye followed a gracefully pendant wisteria vine, glorious in the lavish richness of its flowers. I met a number of kind friends, who trade the day pleasant, and received special attentions from .Mr B 11 Myers and Dr A M Snider. Bro. Myers keeps the town hotel, and is an excellent Baptist, Dr Snider practices dentistry, and is a pleasant and prosressive gentleman. Two ol his sons attended Ftirman, and are'now successful dentists, one in Ohio, the olher out West. A third sou will leave shortly to a position in .South America (Oul a). Pastor C F Ramsbollom o< Kingstree ha* been in South Carolina for two vears, but 1 had not met him before the olher day. He is a North Carolinian, and his first work this side the State line was at Conway. He lias just lately come to Kingstree, where he has charge of the town church and two adjacent country churches. He married within a few years past, Mrs Ramsbottom, as many another wife of the younger Baptist preachers South, having been a pretty Louisville. Kentucky, irl. Bro Kauisboitom is about thirty eight years ot age, rather stout and large, clean shaven, and possessed of much good nature and a striking personality. He eems very happy hi his now work, and we wish him every good success. V. I. The springs of red blood are found in the soft core of the bones called the marrow and some say red blood also comes from the spleen. Healthy bone marrow and healthy spleen are full of fat. Scott's Emulsion makes new blood by feeding the bone 'marrow and the spleen with the richest of all fats, the pure cod liver oil. For pale school girls and invalids and for all whose blood is thin and pale, Scott's Emulsion is a pleasant and rich blood food. It not only feeds the blood-making organs bul gives them strength to dc their proper work. Send for free sample. SCOTT BOWNK, Chemists, 409-4:5 Pearl Street, New York 40c and f 1.00; all druggist*. There are very high prospects for a winning team. Last Saturday t Davidson went down in defeat by a score of 10 to 0. Friday Uni versity ol Georgia was oulclassed and gave up a score of 13 to 9. flushed with that brilliant victory the Clemson team played the Georgia School of Technology yesterday, and added fiesh laurels to their oilier list of victories by winning the game with the decisive score 5 to 1. At the recent annual contest ol the Calhoun Literary Society, among those who participated, was Mr Samuel G Bryan ol Sailers, who delivered a beautitul declamation, "The March of Mind," in a very forcible and eloquent manner. Mr Bryan reflected great credit both upon himself and his society by the excellent manner in which he delivered his beautiful declamation. J04. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU TAKING.
