Tobacco selling is about over
and those who cultivated the weed
are wearing 2x4 smiles over the
pile of money thev made this year.
The writer was not among the
lucky ones who planted tobacco,
but he expects to get in the band
wagon next year, if nothing hap

slowly.
A short pea crop is anticipated
from present appearances. Plenty
of vines but not much fruit. Corn

around Leo.

Lippincott's complete novel for
October is "Fruit Out or Season,''
by Mary Moss. This is the lirst
work in fiction to appear in any
periodical by Miss Moss, and that
>he is given the place of honor as
, novelist of the number indicates
the quality of her work. The
story deals without gloves with a
social situation that is new, yet as
possible as an every-day passion.
