There is some sickness in town
at present; W. J. Harreil is criiiealiy
ill.
J. N. Sauls visited Charleston
last week on business.
I tegret to report that Mrs. J. A.
Sauls lias been ill lor several days.
A refreshing rain lei! last Saturday
night, much to the relief ot
tae farmers.
Mrs. T. E. James and children
of Scranton are visiting relatives
near town.
Mrs. R. T. Parker and two
daughters, who have been living
here for a number ol years, moved
in liporirefowii last week. They
wil! conduct a boarding house in
Georgetown.
Miss Dessie McElveen of Hebron
is spending some time with
the family of Mr. J. T. McElveen,
near town.
Tobacco curing is keeping the
farmers around here quite busy.
Those who have sold part of their
crops are well satisfied with the
proceed*. 1
Quite a number of the young
folks from here attended the picnic
at Lake City Friday, while a
good many of the older men went
to Kmgstree to hear tlie would-be
senators talk. Both occasions are'
reported to have been fully up to
what wa6 expected.
The railroad force here has com-;
raenced work on another switch]
line, which, when completed, will j
furnish a siding lor about 40 box
cars. The new switch will enable
trains to pass at this point without
using the warehouse switch,
which is sometimes the cause of
delay.
Our^ enterprising citizen, J. N.
Sauls, is building a tram road from
here to the belt of timber lying a
few miles west of this place, which
timber he has recently acquired
by purchase. Mr. Sauls is pushing
the work with a vim, and will
soon have his track completed.

Mr. W. D. Bryan gathered 48
bushels of Irish potatoes; he
planted three pecks of onion sets
and made 20 bushels oh onions.
The Atlantic Coast Lumber
