This tobacco was of this year's crop The first sale last year was on July 25th. Beginning early and will sell late. A good crop will be made and Lake City is going to handle a bigj share. Miss Vinnie Calder also of Mouzons returned home last week after a pleasant visit to friends at this place. Both these attractive vcung ladies have many friends here. After the refreshing rains crops are looking even better than before. Something is playing havoc with poultry hereabouts. About 75 fowls have been destroyed recently. At this writing Capt. A. J. Smith's condition seems improved, I His son, Mr. H. A. Smith and sonin-law, Mr. Robt. Woodrow, all of Florence county, have recently I been called to his bedside. Capt. j Smith has numerous friends , throughout the county who would I rejoice to hear ot his recovery. Some of our fisherman went to Black river one day last week and caught a good lot of fish. In my last communication I was made to say that Mrs. R. Wuodrow of Lucile was called to the bedside of her brother, Capt. A. J. Smith, when it should have read her lather. Nox DOTS FROM COLEMAN ROAD. Mr. Alex Montgomery spent yesterday in the Bethel neighborhood over Black river. Mr. \V. D. Fulton, of Monzons, spent Saturday ni*ht and Sunday in the Coleman Road section. A good many folks from our community went to Greeleyville last Thursday to the game of hall, between Workman and Greeleyville. and remained over to an ice cream festival that night at the town hall. Every one seemed to enjoy themselves. In the game of ball, I am sorry to say, the k'Villians,J were defeated. Mr. Jasper King went over the ri^jr to Bethel church yesterday.
