Blakeley is having a telephone line constructed connecting his store with Sautee crossing. When completed tins line will be 44 miles long. Mr. W. D. Bryan, who is h large tnan and given to large enterprises, is building a pasture to contain 2000 acres. It is evident that Mr. Bryan believes that stock raising will be profitable. Brown Bros., have lumber sawed to build three cottages early in September. These wide-awake and energetic young men are always on the lookout for a paying investment. Mrs. W. D. Bryan has been quite sick since her return from Bawley's Island, in spite of the faithful attention of Dr. Rich, her I physician. Picnics are of frequent occurrence throughout this section. Mr. Bryan is repairing and equipping his ginnery to be ready for the cotton season. A glorious protracted meeting was held here last week by our devoted pastor, Rev. R. M. Duliase. Bismarck. Also Section 17, page 21. Advertise the fact that Certificates are not renewed without attendance upou the Summer School; and that attendance means taking the course through the last day. Advertise the further fact that the regular Examination for teachers' certificates will be held on the last day of the Summer School, on Grammar. Geography, and School Management, on questions used in Summer School Examinations, subjects-History, Arithmetic and Algebra. When most teachers exert themselves to comply with the School Law, it is unfair to them, as well as unlawful, !f the school authorities allow others to teach without complying with the requirements of the law.
