But with all the obscurity thus intentionally thrown around the day and the hour of Christ's coining, let us not forget that no obscurity, no uncertainty hangs around the great event itself. Hence the watchman is necessary and important everywhere. an "Ro v? therefore ready." Always heady so we will never be taken unawares. Watchfulness insures readiness; readiness insures safety. We should resist the temptation to spiritual drowsiness. Nothing is much worse than a sleepy religion. Rev. 3: 16. 41. "Peter said unto him." This apostle was the one who afterward moat needed the admonition (Matt. 28: T4), and in so sad a manner forgot it. Those who stand in inost dauger are often slowest to profit by words of warning. "Unto us. or even to all." Is it meant for us cs Thine apostles, or for all men?
