April 14,1398. , An Unfortunate Occurrance. A very unfortunate outbreak occurred among the cadets at the $ citadel last week, which resulted in the expulsion of sixty-four ol the young nun from the institution. Some weeks ago cadet Cantey, a young man from Clarendon county, reported five cadets for breaking garrison and going to a dance. The five stu dents were subsequently suspend ed, and the young man Cante\ was requested by the other cadeti to leave the -institution, which he refused to do. The students I her wrote a petition, which was sign ed bv 8ixtv-four students, t( ( antev's father requesting him to remove his son. which was alsf Tefused. The cadets appealed tc the faculty, but without avail. A f a last resort, the cadets who be ' lieved they had been outraged by / a flagrant violation of an unwnt ten law of all schools, by cade L Caotey, resolved to put him ou > i by force, and on Monday night o last week they attempted to carrj out their purpose, but were intercepted by Col. Farmers Institutes President Hartzog, of Clemsor college, has announced that at ; . recent meeting of the faculty o the college it was decided to hoh a farmers' institute in every coun ty which desired one.
