According to previous announce ment, the delegates of the various Granges of ti e County assembled at While t'nne Lodge in lower St. Mat thews., in quarterly session on last .Saturday, and as is eustomery on such tccasions, a large assemblage of the friends of the order gathered with tbetn to participate in the out side ceremonies. The representation, both of the Granges and their friends, was fully equal to previous meeting*. The hall of the White Cine dr?nge, of which Bav. ?. W. Uut tino is the Worthy Master, is a new und neat building, beautifully situ a tod on the Monks' Corner road di rectly opposite Trinity Lutheran Church. It was our pleasure to be conveyed to the spot by the Secreta ry of Pomona G:anget whose cour lesv on this, and other occasions we gratefully acknowledge. On alighting from the buggy, we soon found ourselves surrounded by the friends of our old home, ami experienced no difficulty in spending a most delightful day in conversation i upon old and iumiliar topics. About 11 o'clock the Grangers commenced their mooting which con tinued about two hours After this, commenced the spread ing of the table cloths on the long line of tables which had hceu pre pared for the occasion, and which were soon made lo groan under the weight of delicacies and substantial spread out upon them in regular old St. Matthews style. At the proper time the signal was given that dinner was ready ami not a laggard was found in tho charge, hut all acquitted themselves us veto raus. After dinner, the crowd, consisting of" both sexes, reassembled in the hall, which was m-m tastefully deeo< rated with flowers by the ladies. Speeches then became the order of the day. Dr. W. F. Barton was first Calle I Upon, and iu a few neat ami appro priate remarks excused himself by introducing Dr. .1. W. Summers, who remarked that during his life, like Or. Barton, he had been successful in private speeches, hut be did not pro pose to try bis baud iu a public way. He, however, made some capital points and then wound up by calling upon the Timks. In response we made no apologies whatever, but meekly accepted the situation and did the best that the circumstances would admit. J. H. Felder was then called upon who closed the pleasant affair in a few appropriate and well received re mark*,. The crowd then dispersed to their etvcral homes bearing with them the most favorable impressions of the Grangers and their happy reunion. Is it Tru?
