The'Eonefit of Laughing. In his ? Problem of II sa?ti/* Dr. Greene fcuyN thajt Ihcro is n it lho re motest corner or little inlet of the minute bloodvessels of the human body-tluit does not fool .sonic wavelet from the convulsion occasioned by good, hearty laughter. The lifo prin ciples) or central man, is shaken to its innermost depths, sending new tides of life and strength to the sur face, thus nmlorialiy tending to in fcuro good health to the persons who indulge therein, 'i he blood moves more rapidlj', and conveys a different impressiqn to all the organs of the body, as it visits them on that particu lar, mystic journey when the man is laughing, from what il docs at other times. For this reason, every good, hearty laugh in which a person in dulges, tends to lengthen his life, conveying, :>s it does, no.v and dis tinct stimulus to the vital forces. Doubtless the time will come when physicians, conceding more import ance than they now do to the influ ence of the mind upon the vital forces of the body, will make the r prcscrp 1 ions more with reference to the mind, and less to drugs lor the body; and will, in so doing, find the best and mofct effective method of producing the required effect upon the patient. - i ? ? M i . - . 4T? ? Gods Alarm Clock. Conscience is God's alarm clock. God bus wound it up so that it may warn us whcuevci we arc tempted to do that which i.-> wrong, it giv^ ill alarm. It seems to say, ''Take care. God bless you. Stop." How i hi por taut it is to have a conscience thai will always warn us of lho danger of sin! But, if we desire such aoJn science, we must be willing to listen to it. If wc stop when it says ".-top," if wc do what it tells us to do, then WC shall hear it.* But if we get into the hnl it of not heeding its warning, and not doing what it tells us to do. then, by and by, we shall cease io hear it. Our conscience will sleep, its voice of warning will be hushed, und wo shall then be like a ship at sea that has no compass to point out the rieht wav.
