thronged with wagons, carriages, buggies,
horsemen and pedestrians-?all dressed in

The report of Committee met with consid
erable opposition on the floorof ihe Conven
tion especially from the lower St. Matthews
peel ion where Morgan and Sam Louis were
contending for the position of member to

Forest to he nominated, hut instead of him
they had a Democrat ami they might as
well vote tor one Democrat us another
Members freely expressed themselves us
preferring the regular Democratic ticket to
the one reported by their Committee.

were outside with their money trying to
buy up ihe members with the view of
breaking up the Convention and us
