James’ and Mr. J. Rosen berg’s. Miss Hannah Manne left on Wednesday of last week for New York, where she will re main during the winter for the purpose of finishing the cultiva tion of her voice. Mr. Hartwell M. Ayer, who has for some time past assisted Mr. C. H. Prince in the manage ment of his printing establish ment at Florence, has purchased a half interest in the business and will hereafter edit the Times. Mr. H. Hennig has been ap pointed correspondent of the Staats Zeitung, a large German paper published in New York City. Items of special interest to Germans appearing in South Carolina papers, are translated into the German language by Mr. Hennig and are republished in the Staats Zeitung. The resident of Darlington, who recently sent an order to J Lynn& Co , of New York, en closing 75 cents with it, failed to sign his name. He should give his name to the Darlington postoffice authorities, as Lynn & Co. can do nothing with the order until they are informed as to the r ame of the sender. Charley Reese, a young color ed man, was arrested on Wed nesday of last week on the charge of having forged the name of Henry Brown, the brick layer, on an order on Jove & ' Sanders, amounting to about $15.
