C., Thursday, December 21, 1972-PAGE 5 Piano students have Christmas repertoire class The piano students of Mrs. Charles Ragland held their an nual Christmas Repertoire Class and Party on Thursday, Decem ber 14th at the home of their teacher. Junior and Senior groups met together for their program and, following their own performances, had the pleasure of hearing Ricky Nel son as guest soloist. Awards were made to Eliza beth Senn and Catherine Baker for accumulating the highest number of honor points during the Fall term and to Becky Ruff and Karen Lancaster for the best practice records. Pro gress awards were won by Andy Bass and Susie Hembree, while Best Performance awards went to Kathy Riggin, playing “Sheep May Safely Graze” and Lucia Schumpert, playing “What Child Is This?” After the Class Lesson, Mrs. Ragland served Christmas re freshments. Appearing on the p r o g r a m were Annette Swygert, Eliza beth Senn, Betsy Monroe, Beth Cousins, Andy Bass, Amy Bus by, Becky Ruff, Stuart Fret- well, Tommy Riggin, Lucia Schumpert, Kathy Fulp, David Summer, Susie Hembree, Cath erine Baker, Gwen Bland, Tru dy Bland, Kathy Riggin, Mary K. Mills, and Karen Lancaster, Eddie Welborn was a special guest. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Dr. and Mrs. Orr McClentic Cobb, Jr. of Philadelphia an nounce the birth of a son, Wil liam McClentic, on December 3, 1972, at the U.S. Naval Hos pital, Philadelphia. Mrs. Cobb is the former Lin da Caroline Taylor of Route 2, Leesville. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Martin L. Taylor of Leesville. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. 0. M. Harold Koon of Area Six Branch, South Car olina Tuberculosis and Respi ratory Disease Association. “Our Association has a very active program of information, education and help for respi ratory disease patients. Each one of the eight branch offices has a staff working closely with volunteers in their own com munity. this work goes on twelve months out of the year— not only during the holiday sea son, reminds Koon. Christmas Seal contributions are the only financial support of the Association’s work. For the entire State the 1973 goal is $450,000. Thus far the Cam paign, has reached $308,412.
