Christmas seals
assist in TB cases
Since 1906 your Christmas
Seal Campaign has fought tu
berculosis. This dread disease
can be stopped but it is by no
means eradicated. Every year
people right here in South Car
olina have active tuberculosis.
That is why it is so important
for every man, woman, and
child in the State to learn the
facts about tuberculosis and to
find out how it can be stopped.
“Just when we have develop
ed an effective line of defense
in the fight against tubercu
losis, more and more people
are suffering now with other
respiratory diseases such as
emphysema, asthma, bronchi
tis, Etc.,” said W. Harold Koon
of Area Six Branch, South Car
olina Tuberculosis and Respi
ratory Disease Association.
“Our Association has a very
active program of information,
education and help for respi
ratory disease patients. Each
one of the eight branch offices
has a staff working closely with
volunteers in their own com
munity. this work goes on
twelve months out of the year—
not only during the holiday sea
son, reminds Koon.
Christmas Seal contributions
are the only financial support
of the Association’s work. For
the entire State the 1973 goal
is $450,000. Thus far the Cam
paign, has reached $308,412.
Please answer your Christmas
Seal letter today. It’s a matter
of life and breath.”
