Surviving also are his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. William C. DeHart of Newberry and Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Clem of Greenwood, and his great-grand mother, Mrs. Helen B. DeHart of Newberry and Mrs. Lula Pace James of Easley. Graveside services were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Green wood. Mrs. Thomasson died Wednesday Mrs. Madena Scott Thomas son, 77, of 803 Pope Street, wi dow of Andrew Carter Thomas son, died early Wednesday mor ning at Rikard Nursing Home in Lexington after a lingering illness. Mrs. Thomasson was born in Camden County, Ga., the daugh ter of the late Francis Miller and Mary Jane Mills Scott. She was a member of Central Methodist Church. She is survived by four sons, Richard Thomasson of Nash ville, Tenn., E. Arthur Thomas son of Newberrv, Carl Thomas son of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Frank S. Thomasson of Leesville; two daughters, Mrs. Andrena Oswald of Newberry and Mrs. Genevieve McKinney of Savannah Ga.; one sister, Fla.; nine grandchildren and Mrs. Agnes Huey of Wildwood, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home by Rev. James Martin. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Mrs. George Koon died Monday Mrs. Mary Emma McCartha Koon, 85, widow of George 0. Koon, died Monday. A native of Lexington County, daughter of the late Samuel David and Catherine Hameter McCartha, she lived in New berry for a number of years and was a member of Beth- Eden Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sons, Frank D. Koon of Rock Hill and George S. Koon of Orangeburg; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Brown of Clinton, Mrs. Fannie Chand ler of Laurens and Mrs. Pearl Oxner of Newberry; two half- brothers, Tommy McCartha of Newberry and Willie McCartha of Prosperity; a stepsister, Mrs. Florence Wicker of Newberry; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Mc- Swain Funeral Home. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. Mrs. Leopard dies at Ft. Jackson Mrs. Ham Shamoto Leopard, 60, died Tuesday night at the U.S. Army Hospital, Fort Jack- son, after two weeks illness. She was a native of Japan but had made her home in the U.S.A. for a number of years. Surviving are her husband, Earl Leopard, Newberry. Funeral was held Thursday at 1 p.m. from McSwain Fu neral Home with Chaplain Da niel K. Hall conducting the ser vice. Burial was held in Rose mont Cemetery.
