The Newberry Sun, Newberry, S. C., Thursday, Dec. 24, 1970—PAGE 11 Member Federal Reserve System/Insured by F.D I.Q Let’s say you go to the top four banks in South Carolina and ask about one of their top savings plans. Bank A will sell you a 5 3/4% Certificate of Deposit for $1000. And you can add to it any time you want to. As long as you have another $1000. Bank B doesn’t have a 5 3/4% plan. Bank C will sell you a 5 3/4% Certificate of Deposit for $500. And whenever you get $500 more, you can get one more Certificate of Deposit. Then there’s SCN’s 5 3/4% savings book plan. It matures in two years. You can open it with a minimum of $100. You can keep a minimum balance of $100. You can add any amount at any time. And each quarter you receive an itemized statement showing exactly where you stand with your money. So even if deciding whether or not to start a savings plan can be a pretty big decision, one thing’s for sure. Deciding where to start one isn’t.
