two months
The body of a Spartanburg
man was found about 10 a. m.
Tuesday in Broad River near
Parr Shoals Dam about 17 miles
south of the point where he
drowned more than two months
ago.
Fairfield County Sheriff Leroy

The victim drowned in Broad
River about 16 miles east of

said the body had gone over
the dam and was wedged in
rocks about 200 yards beyond
the dam. The victim and two
other persons were in a boat
which overturned in the swift
current of the water when it
was at flood stage.
The boat capsized after an
anchor the man had dropped
overboard became caught in
rocks on the bottom. The other
two men managed to hold onto
the boat which floated about
two miles downstream to an
island where they were rescued.
