Many licenses will expire on July 1st South Carolina driver’s lic enses will begin expiring July 1, and will continue to do so through the remainder of 1969, the State Highway Department noted today. Because of a tremendous number of old type licenses will expire June 30, a surge of mot orists is expected to crowd the Highway Department license offices between now and then. To keep congestion and delay to a minimum, license holders are encouraged to apply early for new licenses rather than waiting until the deadline. New, plastic licenses bearing the applicant’s color photo will be good for four years. Cost of the new license is $2. Any driver who allows his license to expire before getting it renewed will face a complete examination as required of all new applicants. Every license issued before July 1, 1965, will expire on the licensee’s first birthday anniversary after June 30.
