Students and their parents overflowed the auditorium of Newberry Academy Tuesday as the third session of the private school began. Dr. James C. Kinard, presid ent, stated todav that 171 stu dent s are enrolled in grades 1 through 8, and 50 are enrolled in the kindergarten. Only a few vacancies remain at the Academy, Dr. Kinard sa d, hut applications will In- accepted, pending vacancies which might occur in the fu ture. A number of applicants had to he turned down for en rollment at the beginning of the session because the 25-Mu dent quota per classroom was filled in some grades. Dr, Kinard announced that Mrs. Cecil I.owman has joined Mrs. David Summer and Mrs. Ella I.e.uvt 1! as a teacher- in the kindergarten.
