C., Thursday, June 27, 1968 UF plans for new campaign Final rites for Mrs. Griffin Hilton Parsons, chairman of the Budgets and Admissions Committee of the Newberry County United Fund, announced that the committee is present ly reviewing requests for funds for 1969 from participating a- gencies, and invites those or ganizations which wish to par ticipate in the 1969 campaign to contact the UF office at the Newberry County Development Board. Qualification for participa tion is simple, Mr. Parsons said, the only requirements being that the organization be dedicated to public service, con duct no seperate fund raising solicitions, and disclose finan cial details of funding and ex penses. Enlow Griffin, 86, widow of the late David Alonzo Griffin- died late Friday night at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital after an ill ness of 11 years. Mrs. Griffin was born and reared in Newberry County and was the daughter of the late Jacob B. and Elizabeth Koon Griffin. For a number of years, she made her home near Prosperity prior to moving to Newberry on By-pass 76. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Colony Lutheran Church and a mem ber of the LCW. As long as her health permitted she assisted her daughter in operating the Wayside Market Flower Shop. Mrs. Griffin is survived by one son, J. J. (Jesse) Griffin, Greenwood; two daughters, Miss Isterleen Griffin, Newber ry and Miss Annie Lou Enlow Griffin, Newberry; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Danielson, Newbe^y and Mrs. Rosa Belle Johnson, Sanford, N. C.; two greatgrandchildren, and a num ber^ of nieces and nephews. * Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Colony Lutheran Church with Rev. J. C.» daughter of the late Hughie A. and Molly Cox White. Before her retirement she was a nurse at the South Carolina State Hospital and was a member of Eau Claire Bap tist Church, Columbia. Wesley White of Newberry; and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Burr of Hartsville and Mrs. Ruth Free man of Lamar. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Wil liam H. Sorrow. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. Virgil Long, Rev. Andsew David Eargle and Rev. Paul McCul lough conducting the service. Burial was in the church cem etery.
