We often use it in the wrony method, Rut it remains a certain aid in restoring us to wholeness and fullness. The story makes the rounds about what happened in a gen eral store down in Florida hack in the “good old days.” It seems as though this store owner had a barrel which sat in the middle of his store which was used by a chicken for it’s roosting place. A cat brought a pair of m-wborn kittens into the store and dropped them next to that barrel. The store owner thought he would have a ] ttle fun out of the old chicken so ho nicked up the little kdteii'- and put them in » he <diicken’s ne -t. The officer put the old clvckon hack down on the kittens and the two went about their business. some more i hicketi came ;• looked at f.'r a moment at the police officer and then spoke to the youngster. “I will give you a stick of candy,” he said to the youngster, “if you will get the eggs from under the chicken and bring them to me.” The land went over to the barrel, picked up the chick en, and stood still. His eyes grew large and there was an expression of shock on his face. He turned to face the store owner and spoke excitedly. “Mister,” he said, “I done et my last egg!” Well, it does us good to ex ercise those few muscles of our face which bring a smile or a grin. It helps us on our inside to laugh a little outside. Helps us meet our problems better, keep our sense of goodness alive, and serves to keep us from giving up when the going i> rough. Why would a rnlumn like this eature deal with the humor ous? Recause it is made into the life of each person, this desire to laugh a little. The Creator equipped us with the necessary equipment and in i' tided for us to use it. Much of our message' would lie better understood and received it we delivered it with a smile in stead of a frown. Next time the going get- rough. use a little of your sense of humor.
