Kirk Showing New Cadillac Cars This Week
Major engineering advance
ments combined with distinct
ive Cadillac styling result in
new standards of performance,
durability, safety and comfort
in the 1968 Cadillac. They go
on sale at Kirk Pontiac-Cadillac
on September 21.
“Heart of the performance-
uiiraDillty story for the 1968
models is Cadillac's completely
new engine. We have capitaliz
ed on our 53 years of V-8
engine design and manufactur
ing experience to produce an
engine to satisfy the needs of
our Cadillac owners," Mr.
Kirkegard pointed out.
Cadillac’s 1968 styling - adds
new distinctiveness to all 11
models. The front end features
a new grille with a new header
bar and thinner and narrower
grille fins. These provide a
more finely-tailored appear
ance although retaining the
traditional cross-hatch design.
The side view Is accented by
a strong design line which
starts at the top of the front
fender and extends downward
to the rear of the car.
Rear styling features a new
fully chromed bumper and a
new deck lid, similar to the
Eldorodo which provides added
elegance in action!
luggage space.

And the "inside story” for 1968 starts with the biggest,
smoothest V-8 engine
ever put into a production motor car.
Brilliant new styling • Dramatic new interi
ors • Totally new instrument panel • Con
cealed windshield wipers • Improved
variable ratio power steering • New disc
brakes available • Wide choice of eleven
exciting new body styles.
Now, enter a new era of luxury car per
formance. Cadillac’s new 472 V-8 has the
greatest torque, or usable power, of any
passenger car engine and the newest
combination of engine components since
Cadillac pioneered the V-8 fifty-three years
ago. You will notice a brilliant improve
ment in passing performance that in no
way compromises the reserve of strength
for Cadillac’s usual power conveniences.
You will also be impressed with its
amazing quiet —so remarkable that only
its responsiveness reminds you that a
great new engine lies under the hood.
Cadillac for 1968 provides, in addition, its
well-proved triple braking system with
finned drums to deliver smooth, straight
stopping power. Front disc brakes are
available for those who prefer the further
refinement of an advanced disc-and-drum
combination, and this year they’re stand
ard on Eldorado. You may also choose a
greatly improved air conditioning system
that moves more air more quietly.
Whether your preference is for one of
the more traditional models—
or the classic beauty ot the
Eldorado—come in soon and
