the middle East, the stupidity
of Nasser was a temporary em-
barassment but one that will
no doubt be quickly forgotten.
The infiltration of South Am
erica is proceeding according to
plan, and it may be that the
Panama Canal will be delivered
into the hands of a government
that hates the United States
and smiles upon the commun
ists..

Died Monday
Mrs. Marian Miller Hite, 65,
wife of Eugene Blease Hite,
died Monday morning at the
Newberry county Memorial hos
pital after a short illness.
Mrs. Hite was born in this
county, a daughter of the late
Marion McDaniel and Emma
Mayer Miller. She was a mem
ber of Bethany Lutheran
church.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by one son, Robert D.
Hite of Newberry; one daugh
ter, Miss Miriam Hite of New
berry; two brothers, Simeon
and Joe M. Miller, both of this
city; two sisters, Mrs. Trannie
