C., Thursday, June 1, 1967 Miss Ronnie Rebecca Camp bell of Newberry and Alan Robert Weeks, of Wilmington, Dela., were married at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 27, in Central Methodist church. Rev. Samuel M. Atkinson performed the double ring cer emony in a beautiful eandel- light service. The church was decorated with gladioli, pom poms and palms. Gerald Reed, organist and Mrs. Clarence Kinard, soloist, furnished the wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fuller R.e7 Campbell, Sr., of Newberr, unu the bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Rober, Hugh Weeks of Wilmingtor, Dela. Best man was Pr .1 R. Haw kins of Charles* n. Ushers were Stephen P Weeks, bro ther of the br ; .rgroom of Wil mington, DeU., Robert C. Ar- ant of CoVnbia; and Robert F. Cox o' Columbia. Mrs. R oert F. Cox uf Co lumbia as matron of honor and MioS Kathy Avedisian of Newberry was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Bar bara Weeks of Charlotte, N. C., and Miss Nancy Weeks of Wil mington, Dela., both sisters of the bridegroom. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Coward and Miss Sandra Smith of Newberry. The bridal attendants’ wore yellow net ove rtaffeta cage dresses with satin trim at the neck and sleeves. They wore matching headpieces and car ried a single long-stemmed yellow rose. The bride, escorted and giv en in marriage by her father, was lovely in a floor - length gown of candlelight linen fea turing a scooped neckline, em pire waist and bell sleeves. The come-away chapel train fell from a bow at the waist. Ve- nise lace embossed the bodice and the train. She wore a matching shoulder-length man tilla and carried yellow-throat ed orchids with steyhanotis on a white Bible Mrs. CamrOell, mother of the bride, we e a blue dress of shar.-’-ig with a lace bodice, I*- .i.cbing accessories and a blue-tinted feathered carnation corsage. Mrs. Weeks, mother of the groom, • wore a dress of deep pink shantung with a lace jack et, matching accessories, and a pink feathered carnation cor sage. Mrs. Weeks, the paternal grandmother of the bridegroom wore a dress of light pink shan tung, matching accessories, and a light pink feathered car nation corsage. After the wedding, the couple left for a short wedding trip. For traveling the bride chose a yellow suit and matching ac cessories and the orchids from her bouquet. The bride graduated from Newberry High school in 1965 and is presently attending the University of S. C., majoring in English Education. The bridegroom graduated from Aiken High School in 1962 and is presently a pharmacy major at the University of South Carolina. The couple will reside at Uni versity Terrace, University of S. C., Columbia. Pre-Nuptial Events On March 27, Mrs. R. H. Weeks gave a drop-in tea for the bride-elect at her home in Wilmington, Dela., while the couple was there for the Easter holidays. The home was beautifully decorated with daisies and tu lips. The hostess served delicious buffet refreshments. On May 15 the bride-elect was given a surprise shower by Miss Lillian Jones, her roommate and Miss Susan Davenhower. She was given an assortment of household items and the hostesses presented her an electric frying pan. The hostesse sserved individ ual cakes, nuts, mints, and Cokes. Rehearsal Party After the rehearsal, a party was given in the social hall of the church for members of the wedding party with Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Weeks, the bride groom’s parents, serving as hosts. After the cutting of the cake the bride-elect and the bride groom-to-be presented gifts to the bridal attendants and the groomsmen. Delicious buffet refreshments were served. Mrs. Harry Avedisian gave a bridesmaids’ luncheon for the bride-elect and her attendants at her home, 1108 Hillcrest Rd., Saturday, May 27th. The dining table was beauti fully decorated with an ar rangement of pink roses and a rosebud corsage was given the bride-elect. Other than the bri dal attendants, the mother of the bride-elect and the mother and the grandmother of the groom-to-be attended.
