board of regents to dismiss

the Cniversity of California.
The decision, which carried 14
to S, has been called “a smash
ing victory” for the new Re
publican Covernor of the roam
try’s largest state.
If new leadership for the
university can re-tore control
over fractious students and
mm-student agitators who have
stirred campus turmoil. the
victory may belong to the pub
lic as well, and to the thou
sands of dedicated professors
who are genuinely interested
in education as contrasted with
political action.

Newberry-Saluda Regional Library Saturday morning.
r Fhe book traces the history of the American Legion from
its organization to date, and is described as “the story
of what individuals have done and can do in a free so
ciety.”
Legion Commander Ray Hunter presents the book to
Mrs. Boland Williams as Legionnaire C. A. Dufford Sr.
looks on. The book retails for $6.95, but may be pur
