Glymph service was yesterday Graveside services for John Herman (Dick) Glymph, 58, I found dead in his Martin Street [apartment about noon Monday, were conducted at 4 p.m. Wed nesday in Rosemont Cemetery by Rev. S. M. Atkinson. Coroner George R. Summer said that an autopsy indicated that death had occurred last Thursday and was of natural causes. Born in Newberry County, he was a son of the late John S. and Bessie Stone Glymph. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Glymph and two broth ers Myrl Glymph of Orlando, Fla. and Col. James F. Glymph of Alexandria, Va. Local woman’s father dies H. William Hopke, retired vice president and director em eritus of the Citizens & South ern National Bank, died Fri day in Charleston. He was. tbe father of Mrs. John F. Clark son of this city. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Mat? thews Lutheran church with Rev. A. James Laughlin, Jr., officiating. Burial was in the Bethany cemetery. ' Mr. Hopke has been associat ed with the Citizens & Southern Bank, and its predecessors for more than 37 years. He retired in July of 1951. Mrs. Monts’ sister dies Club sponsors plane rides The Newberry Civitan Club will sponsor penny-a-pound air plane rides at Newberry Air port Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until dark. There will be a fifty-cent minimum charge for children who ride. Proceeds from these penny- a-pound rides will be used to help the Special Education Classes at Boundary Street school. Giving aid to these classes has been a service pro ject of the Newberry Civitan Club for many years. As a special feature on Oct. 16, Jorn Billingsley will take passengers on rides in his twin- engine plane to Lake Murray and back for $5 per person. Minimum loads for these trips will be four adults or five children. Anyone wishing information about these penny-a-pound rides should contact Ben Bickley, project chairman of the New berry Civitan club. county native Thomas L.
