THURSDAY, FERUARY 10, 1966 THE NEWBERRY SUN. NEWBERRY, SOUTH CAROLINA PAGE THREE Food And Tueedm Ousting Khrushchev hasn’t solved Russia’s severe agricultural problem. The Soviets have plenty of farmers, but not enough food. Bureau cratic planning is no match for America’s unique Agribusiness system. The average Russian family spends over half its income for food—and gets a drab diet. Americans spend less than 19l of each disposable-^ dollar on food—and choose from an infinite variety. Smokey Says: Good farming is a link in America ’s Ag ribusiness chain. Buiour bountiful food supply al^depends on im aginative research, modern machinery, feeds, chemicals and fertilizers, transporta tion, processing, packaging and retail distribution. Farm-City Week, = which culminates on Thanksgiving Day each year, spotlights the mu tual interests of farm and city peo ples. America’s vital food supply depends on 22 mil lion Agribusiness workers — two- fiirds of them city dwellers. Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord —Psalms 118:26 The entry of Jesus into Jerusa lem was triumphant because the multitudes remembered the mighty works that he had per formed. Yet, even as they spread branches of palm trees along the way, Jesus must have been think ing ahead to Calvary. Jesus was not concerned out of personal fear. Jesus wept for the city. Even as they sought to glorify Jesus, he wept for the city and for its people. Jesus wept for mankind, yet even to the very last, Jesus went about an appointed task, preach ing and teaching, setting forth the highest example of devotion and duty. Coesm&odu' THE NEWBERRY SUN THERE’S AN SCN OFFICE NEAR YOU Don’t be the cause of a forest fireI By Carol Bennett, Teen Consultant, Breck Hair Care Center The Roller Derby Life is full of little problems. Problem One—The Roller Derby. How often have you lain in bed, nose in pillow, risking rapid suffocation because those gigan tic rollers made any other po sition like a medieval torture. There you are—nightly-wearing this tin arsenal all because you want to look beautiful the next morning and be able to bounce out of your house with curls, waves and ringlets (ringlets?!). Problem Two. The Frizzie Lizzie. Now you finally emerj into the Great Outdoors with tl “do” and walk headlong into gales of winds and rain. Result- very un-set-tling to your coif fure. Sheep's hair curls in the damp weather, but you’re no sheep—you uncurl and get that Frizzie Lizzie Look.. These two problems (moan) can be easily solved (yea! yea!) The secret’s in the set and in the use of a setting lotion that ex tends the length of a hairset and results happily for you in less need for resetting. Breckset Style Setting Lotion in two formulas— regular and extra hold—was de veloped by the John H. Breck Inc., to “stretch” the life of a hairset and to aid in styling. The setting lotion forms a clean re silient film around hair strands which “hold” the curl much longer than water alone. Thus Problem One is solved because you have to set less often and Problem Two is whooshed away because the curl is stronger and withstands the slings and arrows of inclement weather. Your curie will “spring” into action-if you do. Next time you wash the Crowning Glory put some Breckset on it before yon fiddle with the endpapers, rollers and dips. Watch Frizzie Lizzie disappear. And delight In the fact that yon can exchance year nightly Roller Derby for a sifter, more comfortable nightcap.
