■•'a HURSDAY, JULY 5, 1962 Presbyterians To Hear Blakely South Carolina Presbytery cor dially invites the public to share in the Religious Emphasis Services July 8 at 8:00 p.m. at Camp Fel lowship, Lake Greenwood. This is the second of a series of services to be hold each Sunday night during the month of July. The Rev. Hunter B. Blakely, D. D., Secretary of Higher Education of the Board of Christian Educa tion of the Presbyterian Church U. S. wall be the guest speaker for the evening. He will sneak on ‘‘What Christ Means to Me.” Dr. Blakely, a native South Carolinian was born at Lancaster. He received his education at Ers- kine College, and his M.A. from Princeton. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary and received a B.D. from Louis ville Presbyterian Seminary and Th.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also studied at the University of Edin burgh. Oxford University in Eng land, University of Berlin and re ceived his D.D. from Hamnton- Sydney College, LL.D. from Kings College and Lit.D. from Davis and Elkins College. He has served as pastor of Pres byterian Churches in Louisville and Harrodsburg, Ky.; acting pas tor at the American Church in Berlin, Germany; Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Columbia Theological Seminary; Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Staunton, Virginia; President of Queens College, Char lotte and at present Dr. Blakely is with the Bon’d of Christian Edu cation of the Presbyterian Church, U.S., Richmond, Va. Tne Rev. W. Redd Turner of the First Presbyterian Church, Clin ton, will represent S. C. resbytery as Platform Chairman at this service. Selected For Forestry Camp William Raeburn Lominack of 1704 Johnstone St., has been se lected from a list of applicants from Newberry County to attend the sixteenth annual Boys’ Fores try Camp according to Newberry County Ranger Marvin E. Wilson of the S. C. State Commission of Forestry. William Raeburn will enjoy va ried and interesting experiences •’t Camp Forest, Cheraw State Park, during the week of July 23-28, as guest of the Forestry Commission. A total of 94 boys have an oppor tunity to attend Boys’ Forestry Camp each year. In addition to 24 FFA boys and 24 4-H boys, one boy is selected by each of the 46 County Rangers in the state. Instruction will include many phases of forest management, wildlife management, timber har vesting and utilization, forest fire prevention and control and forest recreational development.
