BU- lingsley, 52, Of Newberry, began the seven-day National Guard di vision refresher course* at the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., May 22. Colonel Billingsley is a member of th# 14th class to be enrolled in the course. The class consists of more than 300 senior officers from 24 National Guard infantry and armored divisions. ‘The course, 'conducted annually since 1947, is designed to provide refresher training as a unit to National Guard commanders and staff officers ,to develop staff teamwork and to provide instruc tion in the application of current doctrine. * Colonel and Mrs. Billingsley live at 1612 Wheeler St. He is dom- mander of the 51st Div. Artillery, an Army National*Guard unit in Sumter. The son of John C. Billingsley, Gurdon, Ark., he is a graduate of Hot Springs (Ark.) High School and a 1932 graduate of the Uni versity of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
