The mar- riage took place at the home on Friday, April 10th. Rev. Dan H. ^Montgomery performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Alexander’s only attendant was her cousin Miss Lana Suber. She was given in marriage by her father. The floor in the auditorium was recovered and : L a building directory is being added. ** Realizing the importance of edu cation for boys and girls the coun cil is beginning to establish a Scholarship Loan Fund. Available through tbe chest; were, sheets, towels, ^bandages, a hospital bed, etc. Home Demonstration clubs spent a great deal of time studying foi^- [eign countries during the past year. Seventy-seven dollar^ was collected for the, upkeep of a Ko rean War Orphan. Thirty-five dol lars ip pennies -were collected to aid the establishment- of Home Demonstration work in foreign countries. Emphasis was placed on the study of hymns, their authors and composers. v A Realizing the value of 4-H club work the council sponsored one of the 4-H welcome to Newberry road signs. The Newberry County Home Demonstration Council not only belongs tp the State Council but is also affiliated with the National Home Demonstration Council and Associated Country Women of the Wo#-14. ~ fhpy have studied Social Sfcur- Civik-Def^n^C fm^WAber ^pro- jp^-adis ^vhiph benefit humanity. They artf also strong support ers of the move to establish the State Cancer Nursing. Home, Much emphasis has also been placed on the establishment of a Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Newberry County. 7. The codfccil has cooperated par ticipating irt the County Fair, Christmas Parade, and.,-Decora tions Tea. s PROSPERITY The Azalea Garden Club will meet June 3rd at 8:00 o’clock with Mrs. D. E. Abrams. The Prosperity Garden Club will meet June 1st with Mrs. P. G. Sjngley at the cottage on the Lake. Mrs. W. 0. Callahan is spending thfe 1 week with her mother, Mrs. P. C.
