v THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1958 THE NEWBERRY SUN PAGE THREE Says Communists Must Be Stopped (By TOM ANDERSON in Farm & Ranch Magazine) Sally Rand made history with fan dance at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. About the same time, the fires of International Commu nism were fanned worldwide when another American, Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Russian, Maxim Litvinov, joined hands in an exe cutive agreement which “recog nized” the Stalin gangsters as the legitimate government of the en slaved Russians. Thus were the fires of hell unbanked. Doubtless that is when the phrase originat ed; “And then all hell broke loose.” The godless murderers sav ed by Roosevelt now rule one-third of the world and threaten the oth er two-thirds. The Communists now call the tune while the world dances, and another Rand — the Rand Corporation — sallies forth, supposedly at the request of the Defense Department, with news that sometimes between 1900 and 1964 the Soviet Union will have the power to destroy our Air Force and to devastate 85% of our big industry and 43 of our 50 lar gest cities in one lightning blow. Since the Senate voted to forbid the Defense Department to spend any of its appropriated funds on plans for the surrender of the United States, maybe one of our fine tax-free foundations would agree to conduct the suggested surrender study, on a non-parti san basis. Truman-Acheson Slogan: “Time Is On Our Side” The only nation now blocking the Communist dream of world conquest is the U.S.A. In this rc<v Smart Duds Dorit Itert... In this war for the world there is just one substitute for victory: slav ery. Not co-existence. In 1903 Lenin, with 17 support ers, established Bolshevism. In 1917 Lenin, with 40,000 support ers, conquered Russia. In 1958 the party of Lenin has enslaved a to tal of 900 million conquered people, and murdered 50 million or so roughly speaking. It is no longer a question of will the Com munist malignancy conquer the world, or can it conquer the world. It is conquering the world. A third of the world’s people are enslaved by Communists part ly because our “liberal” leaders have never recognized Commun ism for what it really is. The New Dealei’s, Fair Dealers, and Modern Republican nationalists have gone on the theory that there are two kinds of communists: good and bad; and that all we have to do throughout the world is to make good ones out of bad ones. Those people who want to transfer poli tical, economic, and social power from the individual to the govern ment are, whether they know it or not, promoting the same kind of society as the Communists, with out the firing squad. Roosevelt confided this pro found intelligence to the nation in Jan., 1945: “There are here and there evil and baseless rumors against the Russians. When you examine these rumors closely, you will observe that every one of them bear the same trademark: ‘made in Germany.' ” But in 1930 Communist Dmitri Manuilsky had told the Lenin School of Political Warfare: “War to the hilt between Communism and Capitalism is inevitable. To day, of course, we are not strong enough to attack. Our time will come in 20 or 30 years. To win, we shall need the element of sur prise. The bourgeois will have been put to sleep. So we shall be gin by launching the most specta cular peace movement on record. The Capitalist countries, stupid and decadent will rejoice to coop erate in their own destruction. They will leap at another chance to be friends. As soon as their guard is down, we will smash them with our clenched fists.” For such contributions to world bro therhood, freedom-lover Manuil- isky in 1949 was made Presiding Officer of the United Nations Se- 25,000,000 Americans.. Let’s outlaw the communist party, jail and deport every known Commun ist. There are, of course, only what Mrs. Roosevelt calls “a rag ged handful” of Communists in the U. S. Probably not more than half as many as Lenin took over Russia with. There are also only a ragged handful in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Manchuria, Chi na, Bulgaria, Tibet, Rumania, Al abama, North Korea, East Ger many, etc. Sincce the end of “World War II to Make the World Safe from Dictatorship,” (or what did we fight for?) the iron Curtain has imprisoned more than 700 million more people, seven more million square miles, in 23 more nations of the “free world.” Since we “won” World War II For Freedom, the Communists have averaged adding to their em pire 7,000 newly enslaved subjects every hour’! Since we are going to let the Communists strike the first nuclear blow, after which we are going to shift into “massive retaliation”— if there’s anybody left to shift—why not surrender before instead of after? That question may be seriously posed in the next 15 years, for if they’re comparable to the past 15, Amer ica will either be devastated or de faulted. Let’s withdraw “recognition,’ diplomatic relations and all trade with Russia and her satellites. Let’s Aid America We have poured $70 billion of Foreign Aid into sinkholes around the world since World War II but haven’t been able to “afford” to maintain our war-making ability over Russia. We are going to be saved by France maybe ? Or Ti to? Or the UN, which has never prevented, stopped, or won a War ? Governments representing 500 million people are “neutral.” We spend billions trying to buy off these fence-sitters. So they have our cake and eat it too. For eign Aid should aid America. It should be a contract with proved friends for repayment in money, goods, services, strategic advant ages, trade and investment oppor tunities for American farmers and businessmen, stockpiles of war materials, air bases and har bors... We are spending our way into bankruptcy. For what? Are we going to let the same people who made war at the wrong time with the wrong enemy make all of us pay for our own’ funerals? We can’t afford to continue spending billions for blood tranfusions for friend and enemy nations. We can’t afford not to spend billions to create and maintain war-making superiority over the Communists. We must have superiority of arms education, and purpose, to sur vive—or desire to survive. Oh, for an American Churchil to inspire and rededicate us with “Come then, let us to the task, to the battle and to the toil—each to our part, each to our station—let us go forward together in all of the land. There is not a week, nor a day, nor an hour to be lost.” CHANNEL AUGUSTA GEORGIA SUNDAY. OCTOBER 26. 1956 0:30 AM—Jr’araa* ot Quartsta family HUNTER BROWN FARM . . .
