By MRS. A. H. COUNTS
The seventh annual lawn show
sponsored by the Palmetto Poul
try Association was held Sunday
at the Newberry Fair Grounds.
The large cow barn was almost
filled with around 700 birds,
which were entered by 71 exhibi
tors from nine states.
The Palmetto features a certain
breed of bantams each year and
the show this year brought out
the largest exhibit of Japanese
bantams ever shown in the South,
according to Johnny Batson, presi
dent. Also one of the largest
crowds attending a show was
present.
A banquet was held Saturday
night preceding the show and a
picnic dinner was served on the
fair grounds at midday Sunday.
