PERSONAL MENTION Among those attending the Car olina Beauty Festival which was held at the Charlotte Hotel, in Charlotte, N. C. October 2nd thru 4th were Miss Ruby Kinard, of Newberry and Mrs. Martha Bow ers of Silverstreet. MRS BERTHA BOYLSTON left Newberry last week to make her home with her daughter. Miss Elizabeth Boylston at Salisbury, Maryland. Miss Boylston is head of the business department of the Salisbury city schools. Mrs. Boyl- ston’s son, Reuben and family live i Baltimore, Md., v where Mr. Boylston is stationed with the air force. MRS. DAISY B. DENNING spent several days last week with Mrs. Duffie Hughes at her hame in Fountain Inn. Mrs. Hughes, for merly a health nurse in Newberry, was injured a month ago in an automobile wreck. This here now, to my way of thinking, is carrying things too doggone far. Can you imagine what will hap pen when some Romeo calls up his lady love. When the picture clears, he sees her holding hands with someone else as she coos to him'through die receiver. Picture this: One gal says to an other, “Did you see how Marge had her hair fixed today? Looks terrible.” The other gal: “I didn’t see it Let’s phone so 1 can see how horrible she looks.’” ; They get Marge on the line end on the screen.' Whenever we turn our attention to someone, else, we forget that other people are probably looking at us, too. . Another reason that Tm not for the idea is that I invariably get my most important calls when I am taking a U-NO-WHAT in the IF-No-WHERE. Under such cir cumstances, telephone television can become as much a nuisance as a ringing doorbell. One of tpe things I have always liked about the telephone is that you didn’t have to get dressed to answer it Maybe I need not worry. Tele vision with telephones may be ”op- tional” equipment — like heaters, spare tires and such for your car.
