Ted Wallace of Newberry were married Sunday morning, December 14, at ten o’ clock, at the home of the bride groom’s parents. The Rev. T. B Altman, pastor of the bridegroom, performed the double ring cere mony in the presence of the im mediate family. The couple was unattended. The vows were spoken before an arch way in the living room decorated with evergreens and candles to form an improvised altar. The bride wore a dark blue wool suit with light blue acessories and a purple throated orchid corsage. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Baldwin of Ozark, Ala bama and is a graduate of the Ozark schools. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Wallace of the Jalapa section of Newberry county, is a graduate of the Bush River high school. He was employed at the Joanna Mills until he entered the Rites Held Friday For Mrs. C. H. Carr Mrs. China Hunnicutt Carr, 73, died early Thursday morning of last wfeek In the Newberry Coun ty Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Carr was born and reared in Charlotte, N. C. and had lived in Newberry for the past 3 years. She was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church. Her husband, Rich^ ard Carr, died about 10 years ago. Surviving are one daughter. Miss Willie Mae Carr of Newber ry, and a number of cousins. Funeral services were conduct ed at 2 p.m. Friday at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. J. W. Walker. (In Technicolor) Fox News & Cartoon Glitterfoot Slippers h The members of the Newberry Music Club enjoyed their annual Christmas program on Tuesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Murray. The program lead er was Mrs. J. D. French, who used as her topic ‘‘Music of the Yuletide.” Opening the program was a beautiful rendition of the Bach- Gouncd “Ave Maria” by Miss Juanita Hitt, soprano; Miss Doris Brubaker, pianist; Mrs. Elbert Dickert, organist; and Dr. Elbert Dickert, violinist. Miss Mary Elizabeth Fowler played three or gan numbers arranged by Bach for the Christmas season. *An interesting paper on “The Messiah” and its composer, Han del, was read by Mrs. James C. Kinard. Illustrating Mrs. French’s re marks on ■ Christmas cards and customs, a mixed chorus sang “O Come, O Come, Immanuel,” “What Child is This,” “We Three Kings of Orient Are,” “Good King Wen- ceslas,” and “O Christmas Tree.” Singing in the group were Mrs. Bob Coleman, Mrs. Vernon Wheel er, Miss Margaret Pay singer, Mrs. Henry Fellers, Mrs. Hope Wilson, Mr. Keitt Purcell, Capt. Vetnon Wheeler, Mr. Henry Fellers, and Mr, Bill Jordan. Solo parts were taken by Mr. Purcell and Mr Jordan. The entire club joined in sing ing “It Came upon the Midnight Clear” and “Joy to the World.” Proceeding the program there was a brief business meeting with the president, Mrs. Richard L. ‘served. meeting with the singing of a bytaji/ SffVBf?
