In “Fort Worth,” produced by Warner Bros, in color by Tech nicolor, Randolph Scott, as the star, plays a frontiersman deter mined to employ the power of the. press in his fight against the lawless elements of .the town. However, he soon learns that his flrey editorials serve little match for the blast of the six- shooter, and when his editor is murdered, Scott, a handy man with the shooting irons himself, goes to work on his enemies— with telling effect. David Brian heads the opposi tion forces, while Phyllis ‘Thaxter and Helen Carter provide the feminine interest. Others in the “Fort Worth” cast include Ray Teal, Dick Jones and Paul Picerni. Thief Of Damascus’ At Wells Theatre Four of the most fabulous ad venturers out of the Arabian Nights have been assembled for Columbia Pictures’ spectacular new screen adventure in color by Technicolor, “Thief of Da mascus,” which stars Paul Hen reid at the Wells Theatre for a late show Saturday and Monday and Tuesday. The fabled quartette consists of Sheherazade, Aladdin, Ali Baba and Simbad. Henreid appears in the Sam Katzman production as a general in the armies of an evil Khalid. The soldier falls in love with Princess Zafir, the deposed Sul tan’s daughter,' and with the other legendary figures, works to overthrow the infamous despot he formerly had served. Plenty of thrilling situations and lush Oriental scenes of amour are contained in the new film, ac cording to advance reports which say that “Thief of Damascus” rolls all the Arabian Nights into one sparkling spectacle. 'Among the entertainment elements of the film are said to be a daring harem raid and a roaring sword battle in the streets of Damascus. Also important are such legendary won ders as S^ieherazade’s love magic, Aladdin’s wonders, Simbad’s strength and Ali Baba’s cunning. Featured in "Thief of Damas cus” are John Sutton as the evil ruler, Jeff Donnell as She herazade, Lon Chaney as Simbad and Elena Verdugo as a lovely follower. Helen Gilbert plays the Princess Zafir and Robert Clary portrays Aladdin. Robert E. Kent wrote the screenplay and Will Ja son directed for producer Sam Katzman.
