Transportation and expenses to Michigan are being sponsored by the South C'arolina National Bank of which Mr. B. M. Edwards is chairman. CONTRARY to reports, televis ion didn’t hurt the motion pic tures industry. The movie mak ers hurt themselves by offering bad pictures. That’s happening to the TV industry. It is killing itself by offering bad programs, and the condition continues to grow worse. That explains why investment managers avoid TV broadcasting system securities. 24 Hour Plant Service FOR ICE-crushed or block ICE COLD WATERMELONS ICE CREAM FREEZERS (Electric or hand) PICNIC CHESTS GASOLINE AND OIL Farmers Ice & Fuel Co. Frank Graham are spending this week on vacation at The Frank Graham’s summer home at Bat Cave, N. C. nii tt Over! We have always thought it was a good idea for every progressive concern to have a catchy slogan, a snappy phrase or sentence that has promotional as well as adver tising value. The Capital Life, during its 16 years of existence, has made faster growth than any other company in South Carolina doing a similar business — even though it has never had such a slogan. How much better it would have done with a slogan is hard to say The fact is. we have never been able to hit upon one that exactly suited us, or that fitted our company as we thought it should. ‘But we are still in the market, and instead of paying some high-priced advertising .ex pert to write us a slogan, we have decided to have a contest and of fer a nice prize to the person who suggests the best one. We are certain there is someone in South Carolina who can think up for us just the slogan we have been looking for In this space next week we will give you the details of this con test. In the meantime, put on our thinking cap and start work- ng on it. r, PRESIDENT CAPITAL LIFE AND HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY COLUMBIA, s. C. Deed Transfers Newberry No. 1 R.
