Smith of Valley Dairy Farm, Kinards, has been rated a Tested Dam by The American Jersey Cattle Club. The dis tinction was awarded Observer Fern You’ll Do Rose for having three offspring with official pro duction records. The cow’s progeny averaged 9,430 lbs. milk with 504 lbs. butterfat on a twice daily milk ing, 305-day mature equivalent basis. The records were made under one of the programs of official tfesting of The American Jersey Cattle Club, which has its National headquarters located in Columbus, Ohio. SERGEANT SANFORD WINS REFRIGERATOR Sgt. Klugh S. Sanford, current ly serving an overseas assign ment with the U. 3. Air Force in the Philippines, was the recent winner of a brand new refrigera tor. The sergeant won the prize during a recent raffle sponsored by the newly formed American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Sergeant Sanford is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lee San ford, 1405 Popular street of this city. He has been in the ser vice since December of 1948. He was stationed in Europe during World War II, and also served two tours of duty in Portorico, from 1946 through 1948, and later from January to March 1950. Sergeant Sanford arrived in the Philippines in December of 1950 and is now assigned as a ve hicle maintenance technician for the 24th Motor Vehicle Squadron, 6208th Depot Wing on Clark Air Force Base, 60 miles north of Manila.
