CARROUSEL COFFEE CAKE 2 Vi cups uftod enriched Soar ickise yeast, compressed or dry up lukewarm water 1 pai cup cup milk cup sugar t teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons shortening ta&espoons melted buttes os cup sugar mixed with 1W teaspoons cinnamoo onfec ‘ Soften yeast in lukewarm water. Scald milk. Add sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Add flour to make a thick batter. Mix well. Add softened yeast and egg. Beat well. Add enough more flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead until smooth and satiny. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled (about 1% hours). When light, punch down and let rest 10 minutes. Roll out in rectangu lar sheet 9 x 18-inches. Spread with butter or margarine and making shast into strips 1 hes.long.
