John Livingston, near Nichols Candy Kitchen Sat urday night. It is said they had quarreled over possession of some liquor and a fight ensued. According to information from the sheriff’s office Richardson and Wicker left Mathis’ store about nine-thirty going toward the Nichols place. On the way they met Lollis and Livingston and the four proceeded to the railroad trestle nearby. After some time spent under the trestle the men went upon the tracks where the fight began. Wicker is said to have hit Livingston with his fist and Lollis followed this up with a blow from a stick or piece of wood. Richardson then joined the melee knocking Living ston down with his fist. Livings ton’s head hit a rail with such force as to bring about his death. Realizing that their companion was dead the trio took the body and placed It between the tracks, hoping to create the impression that he was accidentally killed by the train. After eating supper at Lollis’ home the three" spent about two hours about the house. Later Wicker and Richardson left the. house a short distance and lay^ down in some bushes where they spent the. night. Sunday morning the trio went to the trestle to see what had happened to the body of the dead man after passage of a train sometime in the night.
