THE NEWBERRY SUN m WANTED! 25 men ‘between the ages of 17 and 34 inclusive to attend two weeks summer camp with Btry C, 107th AAA AW Bn. (SP) of the South Carolina National Guard. Applicant must be able to pass physical ex amination. Applicant may be 35 years or older if he has prior service. Summer camp will be held at Camp Stewart, Ga., near Hinesville, Ga. Date of departure will be Sunday, 25 June 1950, and date of return will be 9 July 1950. You will be furnish ed clothing, food, quarters and medical care while attending camp. The pay that you will receive for attending camp will be as follows: If you join this unit before 25 March 1950 your pay will amount to $ 40.00 If you wait until after 25 March 1950 your pay will amount to 37.50 If you qualify before 25 June 1950 for promotion to Private your pay will amount to 41.25 for promotion to Private, First Class your pay will amount to 47.78 for promotion to Corporal your pay will amount to 58.80 If you qualify for promotion to Corporal and have less than 7 years total service you are entitled to an additional $22.50 dependents allowance. If yor* have over 7 years total service or promoted to a grade higher than Corporal you are entitled to an addi tional $33.75 dependents allowance. If you have aleady served in any branch of the Armed Forces you can get an automatic promotion to equal if possible the rating you had while in ser vice. If you have or have not had prior service you will be given the chance to qualify f<vr rapid promo tion. For each two years of prior service that you may have *had you will receive a pay increase.
