We have been able so far to keep our
customers supplied with some coal. Of
course the weather has been warm and
little coal has been used.
With the onset of cold weather the
small stocks on hand will dwindle fast
The strike seems to be no nearer a
solution than when it started. We urge
you, therefore, to let us know now how
you are fixed on coal. We have a small
stock on hand and would like to deliver
yours now while the weather favors
both of us.

DRIVE OPENED
Anderson, Oct. 11 — The
annual membership drive of the
South Carolina Farm Bureau
is now underway in many
counties, according to E. H.
Agnew, president.
Mr. Agnew said the goal for
the State has been set at 25,000
this year. This, he pointed out,
is an increase of some 10,000
over the present figure of
slightly more than 15,000.
,—
The membership campaign is
being carried out by each coun
ty organization on local basis.
In most counties a fall annual
meeting will climax the drive
for new members.
Early reports indicate that
many counties will top past
membership marks. Kershaw
County and Horry County al
ready have topped 1947 and
1948 totals for membership, he
declared.
