Speaking before the student body and faculty at chapel, Dr. Jones said that many educators have been worried about how veterans would adjust to Uni versity life. • The ex-servicemen at Bob Jones have shown more stability and maturity than the average student, and thus have brought more balance to the post-war campus, the president said. G31-2tc SUMTER FARMERS VISIT NEWBERRY Sumter farmers recently made a tour to the up-country, accord ing to J. M. Eleazer in his week ly Ciemson extension service letter. He quotes County Agent Bowen as saying: “One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to C. T. Smith’s farm in Newberry county, where his year-around grazing program was studied. This trip was most worthwhile, and requests are al ready coming in to repeat it next summer.” Dr. Ralph P. Baker of Wash ington, D. C., spent last week end in Newberry with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Baker. Mrs. P. K. Harmon and Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Harmon will attend the performance of the opera, “Madam Butterfly” pre sented by the Columbia Music Festival at the Township aud itorium in Columbia tonight. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Hudson, and Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Ander son, of Dallas, Tex., left Thurs- lay morning after spending two days in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. p. Eskridge. They were en route to Texas after visiting the Anderson’s daughter, Sallie Ried Anderson, who is a student at Sweet Briar College, Virginia.
