also occupies an official position in
the same town—he’s the official
drunkard — staggered through the
cemetery and heard Jake’s plain
tive voice for aid.
“What’s the matter?" asked
Cephus, looking down into the dark
ening grave.
“Get me out of here!” replied
Jake. “I’m cold!”
“No wonder you’re cold,” retort
ed Cephus. “You ain't got any dirt
on you!”

an impatient motorist honked his
