I attended the Newberry City Schools and am a member of the Newberry Vol unteer Fire Department. My father, the late I. Holland Wil son, was for many years coroner of Newberry County. Prior to his death, I was accocialed in business with him and am now Parts Manager for Lipscomb Motor Company. I am a member of the New berry Junior Chamber of Com merce and of the Woodman of the World. No club or group of people is running me for public office. My only campaign promise is that if I am elected, I will do my best to serve the people of Newberry to the best of my ability. Kennedy-Greenwood At a quiet double ripg cere mony in the Bethesda Methodist church, Miss Dorothy Louise Greenwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Garrett of Bethesda, became the bride of John Delos Kennedy last Satur day afternoon at four thirty o’clock. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. R. M. Ken nedy of Newberry, South Caro lina. The Rev. Hartwell F. Chand ler, pastor of the church, offi ciated, and the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a street length suit of ashes of roses and black acces sories and a purple orchid. The bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. Edwin D. Lawthia n of Baltimore was the matron of honpr. She was gowned in aqua with white accessories and wore a corsage of white gardenias. The bride groom’s father was best man. Mrs. Bertha Little, organist at the church, where the bride has been a member of the choir, played the nuptial music. A reception for close friends and the immediate families of the couple followed the cere mony at the house of the bride’s parents. After a motor trip through the Carolinas and Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy will go to their new residence in Atlanta on August. 1.—Bethesda, Md., Trib une.) Persons appointed to these positions will give social work assistance to veterans in hospi tals throughout the United States. The salary range is from $3397 to $8179 a year. Applicants will be graded on training and experience, and no written test will be required. Applications and further in formation concerning this posi tion may be secured from Miss Sadie Bowers at the post office. The examination closes on Aug ust 12, 1947. MRS.
