WEBER-GRAHAM Miss Ruth Virginia Graham of Newberry became the bride of Harry Weber of Summerville Thursday evening, April 24, at 8 o’clock in Central Methodist church. The Rev. H. C. Ritter, pastor of the bride and the Rev. W. H. Lefstedt. pastor of the bridegroom, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The church was elaborately decorated with floor baskets of white lilies. snap dragons, double spirea and smilax. Double wedding bells were sus pended effectively above the organ. Branched candelabra holding white tapers were used and the chancel held a number of white burning tapers. Before the ceremony the candles were lighted by Rudolph and McHar- dy Oxner, cousins of the bride. Charles Gardelle of Columbia, organist, and Mrs. Charles De Antonio of Charleston, vocalist, furnished the wedding music. Prior to the ceremony Mr. Car- delle played “Clair de Lune” (Debussy). “Song of Love” from “Blossom Time” (Schubert), “My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice” (Saint-Saens), “The Old Refrain” (Kreisler) and Mrs. De Antonio sang “Through the Years” (You- mans). The traditional wedding marches were used. During the ceremony “Why Do I Love You” from “Show Boat” (Kern); “Al ways” (Berlin); “One Alone” (Romberg) were softly played. Preceding the benediction. Mrs. De Antonio sang “The Lord’s Prayer” (Malotte). Miss Merle Ayre of Bamberg and Columbia, was maid of hon or, and Mrs. North Miller of Charleston, sister of th6 bride groom, was matron of honor. They wore dresses of orchid marquisette with ruffled peb- lums and French back long yel low gloves gifts of the bride., and carried arm boquets of yel low rosebuds tied with yellow satin ribbon. Their dresses were mint green, fash ioned like those of the maid and matron. They also wore yellow gloves and carried yel low rosebuds. Mary Boyd Ox ner. of Newberry, cousin of th’e bride, was junior brides maid. Her dress was of yellow marqui sette and she carried an arm boquet of yellow rosebuds tied with mint green satin ribbon. Rober Sprawls of Newberry, also a cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. He carried the rings in a white calla lily. The usher-groomsmen were Grady Graham of Newberry, uncle of the bride; H. N. Hutch inson of Sumter; North Miller and Albert Mencken, both of Charleston. “Buddy” Shealy and Larry Graves, both of Columbia. The bride was a picture of stately beauty as she advanced to the altar with her father, who gave her in marriage. She was lovely in her wedding gown pf traditional white satin, featur ing a deep yoke of marquisette, with a graceful skirt that ex tended into a lengthy train. Her double veil of imported bridal illusion fell from a comet of lace and extended the full length of her train. She carried an arm boquet of white bride’s roses, centered with two purple throat ed orchids. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls, gift of the bride-groom. Dick Weber, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Following the ceremony the bride’s parents entertained with a reception at their home on Martin street. Assisting the bridal couple in receiving were the bride’s mother, bridegroom’s mother and their attendants. The bride’s table was decorat ed with lighted tapers showered with tiny white flowers and a lovely four tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Block ice cream, individual cakes and mints car rying out a green and white color scheme were served. As sisting in serving were, Misses Caroline Coleman, Betty Agnew, Zelda Jumper, Jane Ellen Nich- olsen, Ley Crosland, Doris May er and Jean Dawkins. Presid ing at the punch bowl on the terrace were, Mrs. Roy Ander son, Misses Monoria Maybin and Hazel Felkel. Mrs. Jim Todd and Miss Rosemary Albrecht had charge of the bride’s regis ter. Mrs. T. G. Graham, mother of the bride, wore a dress tf can ary taffeta with matching mits and a purple orchid corsage. Night THRILL OF BRAZIL Evelyn Keyes, Keenan Wynn and Ann Miller of the bridegroom, wore a blue crepe dress with a deep lace yoke and an orchid corsage. During the evening the couple left for their wedding trip to Niagra Falls and Canada, and upon their return will make their home at 2222 Lincoln street, Columbia. For traveling the bride wore a blue gabardine suit with white blouse and gloves and black ac cessories with the orchid cor sage from her boquet. Mrs. Weber was graduated from Newberry College and since then has made her home in Columbia. She now holds a position with the treasury de partment of the South Carolina Electric and gas company. She is an only child of her parents. Mr. Weber graduated from Newberry College. He enter ed the army immediately after graduation and served overseas until several months ago. He is now doing graduate work at the University of South Carolina. He is the son of Mrs. William Web er and the late Mr. Weber of Summerville.
