This campaign accomplishes many things, some of which are: develops community spirit, builds better citi zenship, makes cleaner streets, fire losses are reduced, vacant grounds improved, public buildings renovated, a more healthful city, homes are beautified, improves morals, pro motes safety, advertises the city, and helps business. Adds materially in the war effort by collecting more paper and tin cans. In the past year the national aver age for fire loss has increased con siderably. Here in Newberry ours has been lowered. This is not due entirely to any one campaign or or ganization but is due to the com bined efforts of all, with due thanks and appreciation to our local Fire Department. J. K. Willingham, chairman.
