L. Halfacre. OPEN SEASON FOR DOVES IS SET IN SOUTH CAROLINA State Chief Game Warden A. A. Richardson said today that open season on doves in South Carolina would be from September 16 to October 15 and from December 25 through January 20. Richardson said the season had been set by the fish and wildlife ser vice of the Department of the Inter ior a t his request for a “split” dove shooting period which Richardson contended would be “fair” for all sections of the satte. BESSIE MINICK Mrs. Bessie Minick, 5S> died at her home in Greenwood at an early hour Tuesday night. She had been ill fob four months. Mrs. Minick was the daughter of the late J. D. Wills and Belle Afcta- way Wills of Saluda county. She had also lived in Newberry county a number of years. Fun earl services were held Thurs day afternoon at 4 o’clock from Lewis Methodist ohurb in Newberry with Rev. O. H. Hatchett and Rev. F. C. Beech conducting the services. Interment followed in Rosempnt cemetery. ■ = She is survived by the following children: Mrs. T. S. Coleman, Cin- cinatti, Ohio; Mrs. J. L. Johnson, Newberry; Mrs. Dorothy Minick, Greenwood; Mrs. J. M. Jenkins, Mrs. Clyde Williams, Ware Shoals; James Minick, Butler, George Minick, Green wood; J. P. and M. H. Minick both in service overseas. Also one sister, Mlrs. J. A.
