Young of Whitmire, announce the marriage of their daughter. Miss Rachel Keller Young to Captain Harry Olin Bup- hardt on January 28. Captai Buzhardt, son of Mrs. Olin Luther Buzhardt and the late Olin Buzhardt, is stationed at the Naval Training station, Great Lakes, III. His rise in the service has been very rapid. SUMMERS-YOCHEM Of interest to friends in Little Mountain and Newberry is the mar riage of Miss Ruth Summers, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Summers of Little Mountain, to Harry Yochem of Newberry, which took place Sat urday evening, January 23 at seven o’clock at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. O. H. Hatchett. Mrs. Yochem is a student in the Little Mountain high school, and will graduate this spring. Mr. Yochem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yochem, attended Newberry schools. He reported for service in the navy on February 2, and is now at the Brooklyn navy yard. and Tuesday in the county. ALBRECHT-MILLS Of interest to friends in Newberry and elsewhere is the marriage of Mrs. Ruth Albrecht to G. Theron Mills which took place in Indiana, on December third, nineteen hundred forty-two. Mrs. Mills is co-owner of the Ritz Theatre of this city. Mr. Mills is formerly of Newberry, now station ed at Camp Atterbury, Indiana with the armed forces. Allison who died Tuesday night at the Newberry county hospital were held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock from the Leavell Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Aubrey Estes. Inter ment followed in Rosemont cemetery. Her husband and son preceded her to the grave. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. C. B. Ross, and two grandchild ren. EARLY SPRING HINTS Well laid plans for breeding and feeding ar e keynotes to success with livestock in early spring, says Assis tant County Agent S. A. William* making these suggestions: 1. Make use of the small grains (barley, oats, and rye) for hog graz ing. 2. Graze fenced cover crops with beef cattle. 3. Allow sheep one-half pound of grain per day and all the good roughage they wil.' eat. 4. Im prove permanent pastures by apply ing phosphorus and lime. 5. Sow lespedeza on permanent pasture in late March ad early April. 6. Keep the breeding cows maintaining their weight. 7. If sows have lice, treat them with motor oil two or three weeks before farrowing. 8. Dock and castrate lambs when they are 7 to 14 days old.
