Moon of Tallahassee, Fla., spent last week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McKinney. Mr. Moon will be principal of one of Talla hassee’s high schools for the com ing school year. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Huguley of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Mamye Smith of Evans, Ga., were recent visitors here with Mrs. A. J. Andrews. They visited their broth er, J. T. Huguley, in Tignall, Ga., for several days. Dr. and Mrs. M. W. Cheatham of Columbia were visitors . here and, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bracknell of Plum Branch Iasi Thursday. Miss Virginia Stokes of Camden spent the past week end with Miss Ruth Corley. Mrs. Lula Moseley has returned to her home in Miami, Florida, after a visit of several weeks here with friends and relatives. Mrs. Julia Clary of Harlem, Ga., is spending two weeks here with Mrs. John Creswell and other rela tives. Mrs. G. C. Sanders has received a Certificate of Merit from the Mr. and Mrs. Hiram C. Lowe of Edgefield are receiving congratu lations on the arrival of a son, James Hiram, born August 25 in the Edgefield hospital. Mrs. Lowe is the former Emma Bell King, Plum Branch. Civil Service Commission, Atlanta, Georgia announced examinations today for probational (leading to permanent) appointment to the positions of Personnel Officer, CAF-10-14; Personnel Assistant, CAF-6-9; Placement Officer, CAF- 6-13; Position Classifier, CAF-7- 13; and Labor Relations Officer, CAF*t-13. Positions to be filled are in various Federal Agencies located in the States of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. These examinations are open to the general public, including pres ent war service indefinite employ ees. Veterans are particularly urged to participate as any previ ous experience is, by statute, aug mented by time spent in armed forces.
